I'm on my way with Wanderlust..... I had thought that I would fall way behind as I hadn't had time to watch any videos or craft at all in January. It was on my horizon that Deco Art had set up a challenge that ends 'gasp' today! I dropped my housework, all the laundry and the little voice in my head and hit my studio :). I created a journal entry using Kazia's prompts and the quote "That which you are most afraid of doing may be that which finally sets you free".

As I frantically tried to clean an area off my desk, moving art supplies, paper, old projects, etc the thought came to me that :( I might own too many things??? Too much artsy stuff??? NO WAY!. but really it's taking up my time to just find a space to put it so I can create...maybe I need to downsize? Or use up? Or share?? It's something to ponder.....lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-77893935531463757702016-01-26T21:32:00.000-05:002016-01-26T21:32:01.924-05:00Poppin' Up Everywhere

Pop it Up!

So in love with how this turned out! I used a Pop It Up from Karen Burniston and started playing. My Nephews birthday is at the end of the week and I wanted to make a fun card for him.

Tims Bird Crazy stamp and die from the Funkie Junkie Boutique. Copics which were dusty on my desk ;) and scrap paper. The trees are left over from my Christmas cards where I used the birch tree die from Tim Holtz. the greenery was just sitting on my desk. Cut from an old book and sprayed with ?Dylusions spray?

A scrap of twine and some stamps from Close to My Heart (all retired). I used my Nestabilities to cut the circle out of black and white paper.

The front of the card was kept simple, so the surprise really wow'ed when you open it.
This is a take on Shelly Hickox's card from 2012. I had finished it and never shared it. It's another pop up from Karen Burniston. My first one ever actually.
I used a paper collection that I don't remember the name of and stamped from Close to My Heart. The tree is all glittery goodness from Diamond Dust. The 25 is a technique of Shelly's I believe, to make paper look like metal. SO much fun Poppin' Up, I might have a few more of these to make soon :)lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-76999310429329660452016-01-10T13:27:00.000-05:002016-01-10T13:27:05.426-05:00

Wanderlust 2016

I joined up to an online art class for the year....sounds funny for a rather busy mother that works full time and just let a year pass without touching my artsy supplies. However, the thought process was something along the line of.....if I invest in this and its fed to my inbox, perhaps it will keep me invested in getting inky. I guess we will see :). The first lesson/challenge was to start art journaling. The topic.....How do I feel right now? in one word. Here goes.....

I followed the lesson rather closely as I have not played at art journaling before and I am a little rusty....I don't like the green blobs of paint on the right, but overall....not bad for a beginner.I used a little of everything, my page is quite shimmery thanks to Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and old nail polish.

On an aside....my crafty man decided to tap in to his potential.....he shot this buck in the fall and mounted it himself. He used barnboards from our dilapidated barn as the mounting boards. Not bad for a guy that doesn't let that side of himself out very often.

Tag 7 : ahhh, I wish this was clear. I was inspired by Lindas tag this week, but had to use this little guy :) Frozen colours, text in the background. I used a Tim Holtz snowflake stamp and sticky embossing powder over the text stamp (CTMH, background stamp much loved and old :)) I then used dollar store fine glitter over the stickiness to get the colours. a little boy (Eat Cake Graphics), a sentiment and ribbon makes for a cute tag for someone!

Tag 8: I thought the first tag was my favourite, and then the 7th tag....but this is beautiful irl. I liked Linda's trees and the ribbon trailing down. I had gingham washi tape sitting on my desk and had visions of a winter wonderland in my head....So out came Artistic Outposts Midwinter stamp set. I took my tag and wet it, swiping it with stormy sky distress stain, mowed lawn and picket fence. I splattered it with water, dried it, stamped it and put the ribbon on. It looked barren so I used a little Dylusions white linen on the roof for texture and snow and added the greeting. Yes, of course from the funkie junkie boutique.

I used Lindy's Stamp Gang spray for the background and it glimmers and shimmers so lusciously! Enamoured of Linda's background, and not owning any of those supplies, I improvised. I used Dyan Reavely's snowflake stencil and Wendy Vechi's embossing powder, both from The Funkie Junkie. When dry, I sprayed with Rudolph's Nose Red and Bells of Ireland Green. I then took Tim Holtz's pewter paint and dabbed gently over the embossed area. The tree was stamped from a CTMH set and the garland and stockings are from The Funkie Junkie.

Linda's tag this time was beautiful. I wanted that thick, sturdy, luscious border. In mucking out my room, I had found this piece of corrugated board that I had slapped with ?gesso? and forgotten. I cut it to the #10 tag size and made a bigger project this time :) I liked that neutral, soft palette, so I stuck with that theme. This tag is almost all found material and scraps from my desk. I took a scrap of burlap and drizzled glitter and glue on it for sparkle. The greens were leftovers from other projects and were all sprayed with tattered angels glimmer mists. Merry Christmas was embossed in gold from a Tim Holtz mini Seasonals set. The snowflake was from Lindas shop, The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Tag 11:

This tag made me late :( I used Lindas technique of mixing gesso and rock candy crackle and left it to dry. I liked that background but it was really white, so I dabbed it with salty ocean stain and tumbled glass and rubbed it into the cracks. It's pretty, but light. I took Wendy Vechi's embossing paste and spread it across the bottom of the tag and pressed miscellaneous beads into it. I was hoping for a little haberdashery look, but I think I needed to play with it more. I stamped the tims mini blueprint snowman and the Believe (tims mini seasonal) in Staz On ink.

On an aside, it was dried right out and a little rubbing alcohol brought it right back :) ).

The ribbon came with the beads and looked right, so on it went :).

Stamped with a CTMH background stamp in cranberry and New England Ivy, and another CTMH border stamp on the inside. I added Tim's distress glitter Stickles and a sticker off my desk. The wee tag star and ribbon on the outside are all scraps. Now my desk is cleaned off and my 12 tags are done, lol. Great Challenge Linda, I enjoyed every frantic minute of it!lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-83692635088524884342015-12-27T20:15:00.001-05:002015-12-28T15:45:41.510-05:00

I love that Linda has started doing this in lieu of Tim Holtz's 12 tag Challenge. I have been meaning to join all fall, but found that Saturday Dec 26 was my first chance at it and I am going to cram as much crafting into this weekend as I can.....Here goes!

These run across in order, as I am posting all in one shot. My camera is awful. I am trying out my new tablets camera and am less than excited.
Tag 1 : as I look back I had to wonder where I jumped off the original tag that Linda posted. I was inspired by the background of gilded poinsettias all glittering there. I embossed my trusty snowflake stamp from Tim Holtz's mini holidays stamp set a beautiful silver and white, although my camera refuses to show the colours :(. The seasonal chitchat and a cute stamp from ?. Eat Cake graphics? I think. My favourite winter stamp of all time.

Tag 2 is almost a direct copy of Lindas tag found here. I used a tree I had from one of Linda's special treat bags that come with your order at the Funkie Junkie Boutique. I ended up using white embossing paste over the rays and painting with Tim Holtz tarnished brass distress paint.

Tag 3: Completely fell in love with the idea of the panels and the shine so I dug out an old cuttlebug embossing folder, really 5 mini folders that work together and embossed my metal tape. I used alcohol ink to colour it and had to pick an image to finish. I had to use a bird somewhere as that was to be my focus for every tag....but my dies haven't come yet to cut the little guys out and I'm short on time :) a little white embossing paste snow and BAM! 3 done lol.
Tag 4: Gee, I wish the camera worked. This plaid was amazing IRL. I used festive berries and evergreen bough as Tim did with his June Tag. I added a little greenery, a silver embossed greeting from Tim's Mini Holidays and a trinket and bow. See Linda's original here. So pretty...I must use this more often!

Tag 5: I was stumped with this tag for a bit. See Lindas original here. I liked the idea of randomly stamping pieces of a set all over the tag, but nothing fit. I am using a smaller size tag for these, so I need to improvise. I ended up stamping the holiday sentiments from Tim Holtz's simple sayings set and the mini tree from the blueprints series. I glued the tree cut out and glittered up over top of a wrinkle resist? background. The 25 was cut from an older Tim die and a little bling. Done :)

Tag 6 : Half way! Love that corrugated look, but wasn't getting anything from Linda's tag this time 'round. Nothing that fit my wee tags anyway. I started with my wee corrugated piece, grabbed my deer diecut...that I found while cleaning up my messy room *hehehe* and I cut her out of a leathery scrap that I found. This snow was from Diamond dust.....so much fun seeing how I can create versions of snow with what I have. That's my first 6 done :) I don't know if I can churn out 6 more in time to enter the competition this year, but it's sure fun trying. Thanks so much Linda for firing my creative energy back up....I have been quite stuck for about a year.
I started by cutting the box out on my cricut using the Artiste cartridge. I then got to use Tim's marbling tech with the distress paints. This is the first time that I have done it and liked the results. Probably because I finally caved and bought new colours of paint from Linda at the funkie junkie boutique.

The colours are really soft. I stamped over it with a variety of stamps. Some CTMH, some odds and ends with no names. and to make me really happy I dove into the new dies I bought in April. tim's greenery die, the pinecone die to make faux distressed flowers

I markered up the birdbath and blew on it to reactivate the ink. This stamp is from a set that a lady made and sadly didn't get to keep creating. The collection blew me away and I love every stamp.
I found a fun challenge by browsing my latest crush at Layers of Ink . It's scenic stamping. I have always wanted to use my stamps in this way and combined quite a few stamps in my creating.

The background started out as Tim Holtz's April tag and was rejected. I had used a mustard seed paint and it went lime green. The tissue tape is there...... I was trying to figure out how to resurrect it when inspiration hit and I stenciled over it with embossing paste and a tim holtz lattice stencil. I then used my purple tim holtz distress paint because I wanted to see what colour of purple it was :P, I mean the piece was already rejected, so why not?
I had a random piece of white cardstock sitting on my desk that I trimmed to fit into this new window frame die I HAD to have, leaving the frameworks dies on the counter at the funkie junkie. Silly me :(

I distress crackle painted the window frame to look like an old farmhouse window, popped up the window box and set a hyacinth blossom on the ledge. I love that bicycle stamp, its close to my heart. A bunch of the stamps are from an older company, firecracker stamps. I used old Close to My heart markers for colouring.
I made it for an artistic friend of mine that just retired. I'm nervous sharing because she is talented, lol. I do like the way my castoffs came together and cleared my desk. I am entering this into the challenge for scenic stamping at Craft a Scene and the words challenge at Frilly and Funkie. lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-42447368936522475152014-05-05T10:49:00.001-04:002014-05-05T10:50:08.880-04:00No Frameworks Here - Improvize

I started to make Tims tag in April, of course I didn't get it posted in time and I never followed it that closely anyway. So the background is distress paint/ink and tissue tape and I evolved from there. I found this gorgeous blog from a link on www.timholtz.com , and wanted to try her technique for the frameworks. I don't own any frameworks die's yet, Linda! Its on my list ;) I encourage you to look at the Layers of Ink blog and try this technique on your own, she explains it so well.

I made two cards, because it was so much fun :D. You just slather a good layer of embossing paste on the page and push your die cuts into it until the paste pushes up around the edges, add a few stamps and rub ons and WOW! Most of the embelllishments/stamps/ and paste are from Linda's fabulous shop at www.thefunkiejunkie.com , some are from my ''I must use what I have" stash that I am trying to whittle down.
I had a need to create a card for a gentleman that's retiring from our workplace. These are two takes on a retirement card......
I love this truck from Stampin' Up, I used Dutch Blue ctmh ink as my base colour and coloured over it with Vintage Photo from the Distress Ink palette, I pulled the sentiment from one stamp set and the tree from another (both close to my heart). The rest was pulled from my scrap stash :)
I started out making this background for Tims January tag and tried to follow through with the metal embellishment, using the globe and vintaj paints. It was fun but I definately branched off the original design :).
I did a few Christmas cards but gave them away without taking photos. I am going to try to at least follow Tim's tags monthly to keep myself motivated this year. That should be interesting :)
So for January :
I followed Tims technique for the background and the number rubons, which are from CTMH. I started out with a metal foil cardboard for the car diecut, but I used the vintage patina paint and a little alcohol ink to rust it up a bit. This is a card for a guy at work that is retiring. I am playing around with some other backgrounds now, too and hope to share them soon. YAY, back to crafting. lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-89504759432174021092013-05-21T15:38:00.000-04:002013-05-21T15:38:09.930-04:00Gel Medium Photo Transfer - Eclectic Paperie is full of inspiration this month!First of all, you need to visit Eclectic Paperie :). I have had a chance to be a little artsy and I hope for a little more time in the coming weeks, as I wrap up my Oncology Nursing course in the next week. My Grandmother is 88 on Saturday and is in excellent health, living independantly and gardening like crazy. She doesn't want gifts, but I thought she might enjoy an interactive card like this.
I confess that I have had this Pop Up Die from Karen Burniston since I saw what Shelley Hickox had done with it and have wanted to play with it since. The stamp is from Artistic Outpost and they are running a challenge which I am linking to over here. My grass is a die from My favourite things as is the banner. I sprayed the base with Lindy's Ireland green spray and popped the grass up through it. My little girl was coloured with CTMH markers and a water brush on watercolour paper and flower soft was added to her wheelbarrel. That's another of those things I bought and never really used much of. I just had to have it, lol. My lawn flowers are tissue paper cut with Tim Holtz's tatter flowers die which I bought at The Funkie Junkie.
I think I will share this with them as well on the Sunday Share program :). I hope Grandma enjoys it and has a great day!lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-52965165626279184512013-04-29T18:57:00.000-04:002013-04-29T18:58:18.507-04:00How'd you like those eggs?

So this is my egg sketch turned canvas. I liked it right up until I pulled out my black sketch marker and put lines on it :( Is there anyway to fix that? My poor eggs are too busy looking now.

I started out with paper collaging on a collection of scraps and white washing them. I then cut out my tree, crackle painted it and glued it down. Very cool texture, almost barkl ike, yehhhh. I used flower soft to create a haze of green on the end of the branch, with more texture and then the nest......
I was outside on the not yet green grass drinking my morning cuppa when inspiration hit. I gathered twigs up and mod podged them right onto my canvas in a nest shape. I then added my egg shapes from my sketch and some ribbon scrap from a FunkieJunkie boutique order(part of the thank you gift Linda tucks in each order, which is entirely reusable :). I smudged green, blue and brown paint randomly on the canvas before I brought out that horrid marker and wrecked it.
I think I need to revisit this subject in the future, but I am ready for my lambs! We spent a few hours at my uncles sheep farm and took TONS of pictures for that project.lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-62140363767826507132013-04-23T08:40:00.002-04:002013-04-23T08:40:19.119-04:00Oh, My Painted Ducklings!

I dared to bring out the watercolours for this sketch. It's not a perfect painting. funny, I see the faults. My husband doesn't. Gotta love that guy. With the gesso in the background it has a cool texture. This is with watercolour crayons.

This one will not come out the right way up, no matter what I do :P. I didn't use the gesso for it and the colours didn't blend as nicely. I like the touch of orange and I am half tempted to go back on the first one and add a little in......probably not a good idea, my 5 year old tells me!

I have had fun with this challenge from Junelle in the Art of Spring lesson. We needed to draw ducks in our journals and then watercolour them. I am a chicken (no pun intended) when it comes to watercolouring, but I will share my results when I get brave enough to try. These are faint and sideways, thanks to my lack of photoediting software right now, but I hope you can see what I have accomplished.
Today, a slushy, melty kinda day after a late spring storm left my boys and I in an arty kind of mood, so I managed to create a few canvas's as did they......I am going to be short with the details as, you too, could take the course, but.......

This is my first ever canvas. I followed Junelle pretty much exactly, as I was terrified when I started. I confess that it seems too busy for me. The blue birds were painted on by my eldest son when I was almost done and I love what they add to the canvas. The orange scarf was a piece of my watercolour play from the first lesson. Many of my veggies ended up on my small slide boxes as spring welcoming gifts for my aunties.
This is a 3*3 small, originally a slide box from the lab at work. I created a number of these but didn't take pictures. I loved this little bunny the best. It is all done with acrylic paint and marker. The pink bits are leftover dried paint that I shook on while the Mod Podge is damp.

This is my youngest sons work. He loves to draw/sketch houses and the goings on inside the houses, in this, I have a greenhouse with flowers growing and it is nighttime. My youngest is the director of the art committee for his SK class. They have created an art gallery that is really something to see. The school is considering a grapejuice and cheese open house to show it off. I will have to post some pic's if I can get there :).

This is why I'm not blogging much! I was procrastinating one night and dabbled on this book cover, my first venture into mixed media. I rather like it, but blogger wont' let me rotate it :). I am studying for Oncology and I am nearly done, H'ray! I cut the globe from TH die, bought at the Funkie Junkie, the heart is cut from an old popcan that I flattened and coloured with alcohol inks (thank you Linda, the Funkie Junkie :)) and the tag with the word study on it is one of the thank you tags from Linda, flipped over, embossed with the script folder and the chipboard letters mounted on it. I tried my hand at plaster, but I'm not satisfied with the way it worked on the leaves stencil (again Funkie Junkie!) I need to enter this in the FunkieJunkie Sunday share as I used way more than I thought from that shop, lol. You can't see the key to the cardboard heart, it seems to have blended into the burlap ribbon from close to my heart. I stole it off a SPAM can that my husband had taken hunting.
I went on a Girls Cruise, late Feb, early March. I recommend this to anyone....the girls part, not the cruise :P

I was rocking and rolling on land for the week after I got off the ship, even though I was fine aboard! It was rejuvenating to spend time being a girl, not a mom, not a nurse, not a wife...Just ME! Loved it, will do it again. I promised no people pictures, lol, so you get scenery. On the art side of things, I have stuff to get into albums, a vase of sand that I collected and I joined an art class, so I will try to remember to take pictures before I gave away my gifts. I am practicing on canvas for the first time, mixed media and sketching, Yoikes!

This month we have been celebrated my mothers retirement from her Nursng Career after 40 years. It has kept me off the blog and busy planning a simple low key party for her. Now after 40 years she retired and stayed on as a casual nurse, working I am sure more than some others on staff. My mother is an amazing woman and role model for so many new grads and even experienced nurses on staff, so we did have a lot of fun putting this together. I have a few pictures of the crafts we created for this venture.

Above is a shadow box a friend created with mom's graduation picture and black ribbon from her old nuring hat. Below is a card I created with a picture inside of the garden arbour the staff jointly bought for her (It's hidden here and I didn't get a shot beofre she took the card). I coloured the image with copics, wrapped the card with burlap ribbon from CTMH and created that banner with Tim's banner die.
A quick picture of one of the jars that I transformed for gifts this year. I made a few and they left my house like they were on fire, lol. I borrowed the idea from Shelly Hickox and worked with the supplies I had on hand. All scraps :). Some from the funkie junkie and some from CTMH, some just found objects......

See the link to Shelly's here for how to create your own. I used the kraft borders from CTMH a few years ago and pour silver glitter on the tacky side for the trim around the neck and base, crackle paint on the metal rim, pipecleaner for the hat (party hat on the cricut time to party cartridge ;)), the bells and the ribbon I believe were from the funkie junkie boutique, as well as the red twine and maybe the blue crackle paint. I know that I got some of it there and all of it is available :)
I filled mine with snowball cookies, marshmallows and hotchocolate, crafting supplies, whatever fit through the hole.
A little bakers twine, a little wrapping and a bit of ribbon and my tags, Tim Holtz tags, Funkie Junkie tags and almost all Ranger tags, lol. I am having fun finishing up my wrapping this year.
So off I went...

I used the seasonal colours of distress inks and followed Tims tech. I had cut out a bunch of lamps from corrugated cardboard earlier and painted this one with the pewter distress stain that I got from thefunkiejunkie festived him up with leftover cedar boughs from tag 10 and a silver bow. I added a little liquid embroidery snow and a lamp (burned out Christmas tree bulb, can you see it in my tiny pic??) THickers letters for Noel and I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!! All 12 tags and one of my favourites at the end! YAY Linda for initiating this challenge :) I needed it to get out of my no crafting rut, now the ideas are floating around my head for gifts and fun......lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-58679817411269279242012-12-17T21:42:00.002-05:002012-12-17T21:42:28.711-05:00Tags 9-11 for the Funkie Junkies 12 Tags of Christmas

I have to admit that I wasn't that inspired by this card in the challenge, and I had to think about it. That being said, I love the tag I made after all! I decided it was the wood grain that I liked and wanted to pull from the inspiration tag. So my snowmen have a Faux Barnwood treatment from the technique junkies newsletter (2011, maybe august?) using white glue, I love it! and aren't they cute :). The background is a simple Stain smoosh with blues and gold, I tried to get a northern light look going. My snow is a cotton ball pulled apart, the red mesh is a piece of bag that oranges come in from the grocery store and the ribbon is scavenged from a candycane. My jingle coin and the red burlap are from Linda's store, the FUNKIE JUNKIE BOUTIQUE that is hosting this challenge. And just have to share......I won on the sunday share that the funkie junkie boutique blog has every 2 weeks, YAY!

Tag 10 - wooooahhh, I don't have any of those toys either.....hmmmm what to do??? I can't give up, I have almost finished this challenge. I like the ornament Linda used, I really like this tag, I must say. I like the embossed background too........

Here's what I did, shattered glass Embossing Folder, looks like a snowball just got thrown. That ornament detaches and hangs on the tree. The chipboard ornament is from CTMH and comes in two pieces. I sandwiched the picture between the layers and covered the ornament with more of that music paper. The top is decorated with Tims' festive greenery which is 'yup, you guessed it' from Linda's store as is the red hemp.

Tag 11 - It's beautiful, but I feel the pressure of time to create something like that, lol. Take a look at this and let me know what inspires you. I love the whole tag, but the wreath really is the focal point. What can I do with a wreath?

This picture doesn't do it justice....it's a tag covered with frayed burlap crackle paint, and sponged over with a blue ink. BUT the crackle won't photograph. I cheated and used thickers letters for joy, another candycane ribbon and martha stewarts cedar bough punch to create a wreath....which stands out way more IRL from the background. Red stickles from the boutique add some sparkle.

lilscrappershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18380330768610340799noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5405948584843580132.post-6308942785492892612012-12-17T02:35:00.000-05:002012-12-17T02:35:48.734-05:00Tag's 5-8 of the Funkie Junkies 12 Tags of Christmas

This is tag # 5, for the challenge over at The Funkie Junkie. This tag was created from Linda's Tag 5. I was inspired again from the background and the resist snowflakes. This is the first tag that I really moved away from her layout and really echoing the tag she created, but I really like how it turned out.

I used CTMH inks and the shimmer ribbon over a scrap of christmas music paper by ? that I clear embossed with snowflakes. I used Tim Holtz's new minis for my Christmas tree, stamping it once on the tag and then cutting out another one and popping it over top for some dimension. The stars are a die from My Favourite Things that I sprayed with gold shimmer from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I had another idea for this challenge, but I will post it later.....hopefully I get it done before the end, but times a'ticking :)

TAG 6 - I focused on the background again, using an old book and ripping off shreds of it....the whole technique can be found here at the Funkie Junkies site. I followed the layout, kind of, with a lamp post instead of a tree and the circle element beside it. I just got this die and couldn't wait to play with it. I used lots of liquid embroidery puff paint and managed to scavenge old light bulbs from our strings when we were decorating.

Down below I have my example of Tag 7, see the original here. I found an example of the technique on the Simon Says Stamp blog and followed that. I managed to sneak more lightbulbs on here, lol. I really wish I had picked a different colour of Pearl Ex, but didn't have time to redo it.....

I pulled in the corrugated cardboard theme in my holly leaves and used an old Warm Days stamp set from CTMH that I find I pull out A LOT.

YAY, Tag 8 and this post is almost done. I meant to spread these out, but lost my little camera and had to get them posted so I could link them up. This is my favourite tag and probably the trickiest to make so far.......I am going to make more of these, for sure. I just wish I could take better pictures to show you.

So, for some reason, I immediately went from the Funkie Junkies Tag to wanting to do this. Its shiny, touchable, fuzzy, embossed, corrugated.......whats not to love, lol. I really worked at capturing this to share how gorgeous it is IRL. So, I started with a blank tag and stamped a CTMH Merry Christmas in black archival ink. I dumped gold EP over it and heated it. I then stamped Santa and masked him off.
I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang Rudolph Red and a Bells of Ireland Green on the tag, blotting it as I sprayed so it wouldn't run under my mask. I lifted the mask, coloured the red and green parts and added liquid embroidery and fluff to his face and plain liquid embroidery to the hat and PUFFED it.....yummy! I glued on a piece of red burlap compliments of the Funkie Junkie Boutique, as is the red twine under the bells. Who by the way is sponsoring this challenge and is my favourite store to shop in.
Whew, a monster post, and 4 tags to go in less than 24 hrs!
